Sorority Cookies

I had a last minute order this last weekend for some cookies for some sort of sorority event.

I don't really care for the way the anchors turned out, but I didn't have time to think of anything better. Oh well.  Also, the anchor cookie cutter is officially my archnemesis.  No matter what I did, the dough would not stop sticking in the corners.

Indian Feather Cookies

Sorry, that is so politically incorrect.  When I was a kid, at Thanksgiving we'd sing that "one little, two little, three little Indians" song.  Now at my son's preschool, they sing "one little, two little, three little Wampanoags."  So silly.

Anyway, I had an order this last weekend for feather cookies for a Native American themed party.  And my husband has reminded me to mention that I made the cookie cutter for it.  I know it's a pretty simple shape, but still, I made it, not my husband.

My Blog Makeover!

As you have probably already noticed, I just got a bit of a blog makeover!  I won Jackie's giveaway
at The Cookie Corner.  Pretty, right?  Thanks, Jackie!  She makes some really cute cookies, so you should definitely go check them out.

Apple Tree Cookies and My Blogging Anniversary

I realized a few days ago that as of last week, I've had this blog for a year! Happy blogging anniversary to me! Thank you to everyone who has chosen to follow me this last year as I've been learning how to decorate cookies.

Now that all the holiday orders are done, I finally had some time this week to make some cookies that I've been wanting to make for a long time.  For the last year and a half, we've practically lived at Apple Tree, the place where my son gets global therapy.  We really appreciate all that they have done for him, and they always appreciate my leftover cookies, so I thought I'd make some cookies specifically for them this time.

After the fact, I realized that it was very fitting to make them cookies on my blog anniversary because I'm not sure if I would have pursued my little cookie business if it weren't for them.  They were the first people to order cookies from me, and it kind of took off from there.
